"For physical interaction, close physical proximity, and persistent gaze, you must assume non-consent until the person clearly and unambiguously communicates otherwise."
Imagine you are a speaker at a conference being governed by this code of conduct. Imagine that your presentation is over and you hand the microphone to the next speaker. If you didn't ask for permission to hand the microphone over, boom, you just violated the FCOP (physical interaction). Imagine you take a seat in the packed audience after handing over the microphone. If you didn't ask for permission to sit, boom, you just violated the FCOP (close physical proximity).
These examples seem intuitively permissible to me, so I assume the clause is unintentionally broad.
Suggested fix: "For situations involving physical proximity and/or physical interactions of a non-professional or unusual nature, and situations of an overly personal nature (persistent gaze, sexual language directed at a specific person, etc), you must assume non-consent until the person clearly and unambiguously communicates otherwise"
Still loving that this project exists.
